Device Compatibility: This scanning process & authentication rules work identically on iOS and Android devices. All demos shown below are captured on iPhone.

LV Chip Rollout Timeline
Post March 2021: Every new LV handbag comes with built-in ICODE NFC chip as standard configuration.
2016-2017 Limited Editions: Transitional dual-mark design, with both traditional heat stamp date codes and internal NFC chips. Very limited stock on the second-hand market.
Styles Without Built-In Chips: Speedy Nano, mini bucket bags, small clutches do not feature factory NFC chips. Missing chip does not equal counterfeit.
Mandatory Test Rule: Scan the chip three times in a row for valid verification. Authentic chips generate different last 8 digits every scan. If all three scans output identical UID codes, it is a replica fixed chip.
Step 1: Download Official NXP Taginfo App (Only Trusted Reader)
NXP Semiconductors, the original chip manufacturer, released the official NFC Taginfo app for free download on App Store & Google Play. Search keyword "NFC" to locate the utility.

Open the app, tap the blue "Scan & Launch" button on the home page to activate scanning mode

A pop-up "Ready to Scan" window will appear. Place the back of your phone close to the internal NFC chip inside your LV bag

The app will automatically detect the chip and jump to the Tag Details page, where you can view the full UID and chip technical parameters

Step 2: Core Authentic Dynamic UID Rule (Most Critical Standard)
Genuine LV ICODE chips adopt dynamic encrypted UID technology, which means the full code will not stay static after each scan.
✅ Authentic UID Feature:
The first 10 characters of the UID stay permanent every scan; the last 8 digits refresh randomly without repetition.
Scan three times continuously, and the last 8 segments must be different to pass the encryption test.
❌ Counterfeit Chip Flaw:
Fake replica chips use static fixed UID. The entire code remains unchanged across all scans, or carries forbidden prefix codes that do not match LV factory standards.

Red Flag UID Prefix Warning
Nearly all factory-original LV chips carry UID starting with 163C / 163C1.

Step 3: Two Fixed Hardware Parameters To Verify
On the Tag Details page, check these two technical data points for factory authenticity:
✅ Genuine Chip Standard Parameters:
IC Manufacturer: NXP Semiconductors
IC Name: Unknown
Memory Information: 0 Bytes
❌ Counterfeit Abnormal Traits:
If the page displays a specific IC model name or non-zero memory storage, the chip’s underlying data conflicts with NXP factory specs, confirming a replica counterfeit chip.

Final Comprehensive Authentication Reminder
NFC chip scanning result is only a supplementary reference item, and cannot be used as the single basis to judge authenticity.
Vintage pre-owned bags and styles produced before 2021 have complex conditions. Complete luxury authentication requires cross-checking leather texture, hardware engraving, stitching craftsmanship, interior stamp font and metal plating together.
